Peace is costly, but it’s worth the expense~ African Proverb

I have dedicated my entire professional career to serving communities of color. My work spans a wide range of experiences, including supporting youth, families of homicide victims, pregnant and parenting teenagers, formerly incarcerated women, survivors of human trafficking, and couples. I am also an experienced domestic violence counselor, committed to advocating for individuals who have endured abuse.

In my clinical practice, I employ motivational interviewing and a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities—including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Existential Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy. I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, PTSD, addiction, childhood trauma, and other emotional disorders.

At the heart of my work is a simple but powerful goal: to turn on the light for those who have walked through darkness.

Today is the seed time, now are the hours of work, and tomorrow comes the harvest” - W.E.B Du Bois

For over 20 years, I have dedicated myself to serving Oakland youth, working to ensure that college remains a viable and attainable goal. Alongside this work, I have provided intensive case management focused on strengthening the social-emotional well-being of underserved youth within the Oakland Unified School District.

My journey has not been without personal challenges. My mother and I have weathered many storms shaped by the tragedies our family has endured. As a neurodivergent individual, I navigate daily life with unique mental health challenges that have deeply influenced my relationship with my mother. These lived experiences fuel my passion for destigmatizing mental health—especially among mothers and daughters.

As a single mother raising my son, Chè, who is on the autism spectrum, I navigate the daily realities of caregiving while striving to grow in my career. Securing trusted, properly trained childcare—especially for a child who is not yet fully verbal—has been one of my greatest challenges. This lived experience revealed how vulnerable families can become when children with special needs are unable to fully advocate for themselves.

It is my mission to normalize conversations around mental health and offer practical, compassionate strategies to strengthen mother–daughter relationships, grounded in grace, courageous honesty, and unconditional love. This commitment also informs our stabilization support for single mothers raising children with special needs, ensuring families are supported both emotionally and practically.
